Job DescriptionJob DescriptionTRAINING PROVIDED.Capitan Law is seeking a full-time associate attorney for a salaried position in Glen Mills, PA. Our law firm represents disabled claimants/plaintiffs. Capitan Law's primary focus is group long term disability insurance claims, most of which are governed by federal law - specifically, the Employee Retirement Income Security Act of 1974 (ERISA). Most of our work happens at the administrative level with the insurance companies during the appeal and/or claim review process, but can involve litigation in federal court.A candidate should have a Juris Doctor (JD) degree and an active state bar license in good standing. It is essential that any job candidate have great people skills and excellent writing abilities. It would be beneficial for job candidates to have experience reviewing medical records. Bar licensure in addition to the state of PA would also be of benefit - e.g. New Jersey licensure.We will request a writing sample and three references for any associate attorney candidate selected for the interview process. A standard background check will also be required.The associate attorney position's starting salary will depend upon experience and qualifications. Our law firm currently has 401K and we are in the process of adding comprehensive employee benefits with a target start date of 04/01/2024. We will offer employer paid health insurance through Independence Blue Cross (to the individual employee) as well as group dental, vision, life insurance, short term disability, and long term disability through Principal.
