Software Engineer

Are you an engineer who inspires the team to think out of the box and effectively communicates across all levels of the organization?</p> <p>If this describes you, Mastercard wants to talk to you about the creation of our new agile development team that will support Direct Services Access work within our program.</p> <h1>About the Role:</h1> <ul> <li>Ensure quality of one or more application codebases and alignment with development standards.</li> <li>Lead and guid the team in investigating, analyzing and implementing changes to very complex C code.</li> <li>Provides input into design of automation for full infrastructure deployment; manages review of and tests for compatibility and integration processes needed to connect with other device</li> <li>Automates large scale systems spanning multiple locations and environments.</li> <li>Writes code automating public cloud, private cloud, and bare metal.</li> <li>Automates common tasks, deploy with an IaaS model, utilizing chef, ansible, or similar</li> <li>Ability to write moderately complex scripts and programs for automation, tools, frameworks,</li></ul> <p>dashboards, alarms. (common uses: Google Test, perl, shell scripting).</p> <ul> <li>Orchestrates the deployment/maintenance of complex applications.</li> <li>Responsible for performance engineering of the enterprise software architecture.</li> <li>Significant code development, commitment of code/review of pull-requests, and modest day-to-day support duties.</li></ul> <h1>About You:</h1> <ul> <li>Engineering experience, preferably in high volume, low latency transaction processing systems (such as payments transaction switching, high frequency real-time transaction processing systems or global real-time event streaming systems etc.)</li> <li>Experience developing complex stories in C and writing unit tests in C++ (Google Test)</li> <li>Experience in CI/CD pipeline creation via Jenkins.</li> <li>Developed software for Linux operating systems</li> <li>Delivered scalable products through a CI/CD pipeline deploying on-prem or globally distributed edge computing infrastructure.</li> <li>Ensure quality across the full stack via rigorous CI/CD practices in all aspects of the SDLC (Builds, Test, and Deploy).</li> <li>Strong writing and verbal communication skills</li> <li>Adhere to quality and engineering standards</li></ul> <p>Preferred Skills:</p> <h1> </h1> <ul> <li>Expertise knowledge and experience with C, C++</li> <li>Experience in financial system with high performance, low latency applications would be beneficial</li> <li>Experience with testing frameworks and methodologies (Gtest, JUnit, etc.)</li> <li>Experience using Java on a cloud-native approaches running on Linux, leveraging Spring Boot</li> <li>Experience with various coding languages C, C++, Java, Go etc.</li> <li>Experience with developing software for Linux operating systems</li> <li>Experienced in event driven systems is a plus (Apache Kafka, NATS, etc)</li> <li>Collaborate with Architects and Leads to define interfaces and interactions between systems</li> <li>Implement development process improvements and automation</li> <li>Coach and develop junior employees</li> <li>Deliver department and external presentations</li></ul> <p>Education</p> <p>BS or MS in Computer Science or associated field.</p>
