RTP Company is a global compounder of custom engineered thermoplastics headquartered in Winona, Minnesota.The Production Support Employee is responsible for performing a variety of material handling functions between production departments to ensure efficient operations.Work Schedule: Monday - Thursday, 5:00 AM - 3:00 PMResponsibilitiesMove baskets of yarn and bobbinsBring spun yarn to scale, weighing and recording weight of yarn on ticketsMove yarn to the winding area and return empty bobbins to the spinning areaLoad spinning frames with spools of rovingStrip spools of any left over roving and place in proper containerTransport trucks of empty spools back to the carding area and return with full trucks when availableTag and box up any stock as needed, recording information on weight sheet and store boxes in the warehouseClean throughout departmentCollect and move waste to designated areaOil spinning frames and perform minor maintenanceAssist machine operators in Winding and Spinning Departments as needed.Use appropriate safety equipment and notify shift supervisor immediately of any hazards detected, any near miss accidents and any accidentsPerform other duties as assigned or directedSkills and AbilitiesMust be dependable with excellent attendanceMust be self-directed with a strong work ethicMust work well with others and has a positive attitudeMust be safety consciousMust be mechanically inclinedPrevious experience with circular knitting machines a plusStrong attention to detailGood basic math skillsMust be punctual and reliableMust be able to read, write, and speak EnglishEducation and ExperienceHS degree or GED preferredPast manufacturing experience preferredPhysical Requirements and Working ConditionsFrequent bending/stooping, squatting, reaching above shoulder level, crouching and lifting (up to 60 lbs)Continual walking in a relatively confined area is requiredFrequent standing at floor level and above floor level on equipmentCoordination of skills performed at heights no greater than three feetExposure to extremes (90 F) in temperatureGood vision is required, 20/20 or corrected to 20/20Frequent and continuous use of hands and armsEmployees with sensitivities to dust may be exposed to airborne dust, silk and synthetic fibers and are encouraged to wear a mask to help filter out airborne fiber.SummaryEOE, including disability/vets; All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, or status as a protected veteran.
