JOB DESCRIPTION: Professional Development and Orientation: July 1, 2024 and July 2, 2024 Program Dates : July 8, 2024 - August 2, 2024 Location : Ashlawn Elementary School Mode l: IN-PERSON RESPONSIBILITIES: Assist individuals or groups of students with classroom activities under the guidance and direction of a special education teacher. Assist with classroom and behavior management plans under teacher guidance and direction. Collaborate with school staff, related service providers, student services staff, and families. Perform other tasks as assigned by teacher, site-administrator, or coordinator EXPERIENCE: Experience working with children from diverse backgrounds. One year working with students who have disabilities QUALIFICATIONS: Graduation from high school or equivalent education; and 60 college credits from a regionally accredited college/university; or qualifying score on the ParaPro (455 or better). Reliable, dependable, flexible, and punctual. Flexible and willing to work as a team. Knowledge of the needs of Pre-K students with disabilities. Ability to take initiative appropriately. (Please note Salary earned relative to summer school employment will not be included in the employees creditable compensation amount reported to the Virginia Retirement System (VRS).) Retired APS Assistants will be paid $26.24 per hour. Non-APS Assistants will be paid $16.15 per hour. If you resign effective the last day of the school year, you will receive a flat rate of 16.15 per hour for Assistants. Pay Plan 23/24 (Page 50) DAYS:
