JOB DESCRIPTION: Professional Day and Orientation: July 1&2, 2024 Program Dates : July 8, 2024 - August 2, 2024 Location : Barrett Mode l: IN-PERSON RESPONSIBILITIES: Plan, organize and implement appropriate instruction in the areas of motor skills, language, self-help skills, and personal independence Adapt instruction, assignments and curriculum depending on the needs of the students Collect data on student critical life skill goals Provide accommodations and modifications for students as needed Working collaboratively with school staff, student services staff, and families Plan and organize activities to be carried out by an assistant if assigned EXPERIENCE: Teaching students with autism spectrum disorders Working with a variety of ability /grade levels (classes are multi-graded) QUALIFICATIONS: Must hold a valid license (or provisional license) in special education Knowledge of best practices and experience teaching students with autism spectrum disorders Knowledge of the academic, social, and emotional needs of students with autism spectrum disorders CONTACT INFORMATION: Instructions for applying: Prior to applying, ensure that you are able to work for the entirety of the program or that you have a job share arranged. (Please note Salary earned relative to summer school employment will not be included in the employees creditable compensation amount reported to the Virginia Retirement System (VRS).) Retired APS teachers will be paid $47.73 per hour per APS pay plan. Non-APS licensed summer school teachers will be paid $35.52 per hour. If you resign effective the last day of the school year, you will receive a flat rate of $35.52 per hour for teachers. Pay Plan 23/24 (Page 50) DAYS:
