Job Description

IBM Research is looking to hire a Full Stack Application Developer in the Emerging Technology Engineering organization for the continued development and support of one or more applications to manage and execute on the IBM Research strategy.
This team is comprised of one or more Agile squads consisting of a product owner, iteration manager, developers and designers all working closely with members of the scientific research community (our stakeholders) to bring IBM Research strategy to life.

In this position, you will collaborate with our development team on the design and implementation of new features and components for our web applications.
You should also be able to understand and contribute to discussions of design architecture and the impact UX/UI in a web platform.

  • Job Duty 1 Build web components and features based on UI designs using the React.
    js library.
  • Job Duty 2 Build backend service calls using python/python Flask to facilitate the interaction with frontend components
  • Job Duty 3 Perform code reviews and testing of components and features

Required Experience
  • High proficiency in python (2+ years of experience)
  • High proficiency in React.
    js (2+ years' experience)
  • Proficiency in python Flask
  • Proficiency in the use of git for source code management
  • Strong innovation skills and ability to solve computational problems
  • Communicate clearly and effectively
  • Experience working on a team and collaborating to achieve a shared goal

Primary Skills
  • Some experience with typescript/JavaScript and Node.
    js
  • Some experience working with a Designers Team
  • Some experience with Agile processes and methods
  • Knowledge of cloud architecture/development, Docker, SQL a plus
  • Must be a US Citizen
