Associate Manager, Contract Manufacturing - Global Procurement
Job Description
Summary:
The Associate Manager must take on a Procurement leadership role in the area of Contract Manufacturing, in Cross Functional and Regional Teams to deliver key objectives (including among others, Ensuring Supply, Managing Relationships, Creating a Reliable Network, deliver Cost Savings). The results are delivered by using advanced Procurement skills, a ‘can-do’ attitude and ability to build relationships at senior level in the organization that help to influence across functional, cultural and hierarchical boundaries.

The Associate Manager can work with minimal supervision

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Direct Procurement Responsibility for selected Contract Manufacturer relationships in NA
• Focal point and commercial liaison with selected Contract Manufacturers
• Build solid relationships as part of the Contractor Relationship Management process with the intent to assure supply
• Lead the creation, negotiation and execution of legal contracts with Contract Manufacturers to fully cover the spend in control.
• Leading and executing all competitive events and leading the regional execution of selected Strategies for the category.
• Identify and implement new Cost Saving projects in line with Global Procurement savings objectives
• Works in partnership with the regional Supply Chain organization to ensure contingency plans exist, an understanding of alternate supply sources is developed, and a balanced risk approach to business awards is achieved to maintain a healthy level of mutual importance with the supplier, and minimize instances of sole sourcing


Key Accountabilities:
• Applies Best Procurement processes & practices in the Contract Manufacturing Procurement Organization
• Deliver year on year Cost Saving targets
• Works closely with CMs and Regional & Global Category leads to explore the region as a prospective sourcing center.
• Identifies opportunities and issues with CMs and suppliers to bring value through a total cost of ownership orientation.
• Manage relationships and ways of working with key CM suppliers in order to align understanding & commitment with internal customer expectations.
• Ensures that communication to the internal & external stakeholders is proper. Seamless & timely flow of information creates an environment of transparency and access to information.
• Identifies implements & continuously improves systems & processes in order to deliver greater effectiveness of service for the company.
• Demonstrates & performs in accordance with sound business ethics, purchasing standards, policies & procedures to give SCJ the highest possible perceived integrity in all supplier relationships.

Required Skills / Experience / Competencies:
• Education: BS Science/Engineering/Business or related field
•Minimum 5years of business experience in Procurement, relevant business experience in Supply chain, with a deep understanding and skills in key tools such as clean sheets and total cost of ownership

• Strategic Sourcing Skills
• Excellent negotiation, financial analysis, problem solving and project management skills
• Analytical mind-set, with good finance and cost saving understanding
• Proven track record of cross functional collaboration
• Regional experience and strong cross cultural awareness and leadership capability
• Ability to interface with multiple levels of an organization internally and externally
• Ability to develop regional business cases and strategic business plans
• Demonstrated skills (at regional level) include organizational communication and networking ability, strategic thinking, leadership, strong influencing skills, high level communication, negotiations, and problem analysis

Preferred Skills / Experience / Competencies:
•Thorough knowledge of Supply Markets for various Contract Manufacturing set-ups across Technologies like Aerosols, Liquid, Gels, hot and cold filling used in the Consumer Packaging Industry
•Sound Analytics and Knowledge of Supply Markets in the region and some Markets of the region
• Purchasing certifications
•Excellent Commercial Knowledge
•The capability to communicate credibly to and influence a variety of audiences across the Regional and Global Procurement Organization, Senior Managers and External Stakeholders
•An eye for detail
•Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize, multi-task, and plan for future contingencies
•Be capable of making sound decisions in a fast moving environment.
•Strong problem solving capabilities
•MS Excel, Power Point Proficiency
