Role Summary: The Data, Infrastructure, and Software Engineering (DISE) organization helps solve our customers' toughest challenges; making flights safer, power cheaper, and oil & gas production safer for people and the environment by leveraging data and analytics. The Sr. Staff Data & Information Architect will be responsible for the architecture of Spotfire, GE Aviation's enterprise data visualization tool, leading technical initiatives for the team.
Essential Responsibilities: The Sr. Staff Data & Information Architect will be part of the horizontal Enterprise Family in the DISE organization. The architect in this role will drive the architecture for Spotfire, the enterprise data visualization tool, looking to empower both business users and data visualization engineers to create their own data and analytics projects and to create a comprehensive and performant ecosystem to drive the invention of new analytics and data reports. To do this, the architect will need to consistently strive to reduce technical hurdles, simplify access to data, automate data processes, and act as a subject matter expert who coaches and consults business partners and other technologists. The architect will be the organizational expert in Spotfire, setting the strategic technical direction for the technology.

Knowledge of Redshift/Postgres databases
Knowledge in data lake concepts

Experience with data visualization
Experience with IT process automation
Proven ability to teach technical concepts to those without a technical background
Approachable and able/willing to answer questions from users with a wide variety of backgrounds
Depth of experience with Spotfire administration
Depth of experience with infrastructure management
