Seek a strong technical applicant with benchtop experiences to support Latex reagent production and troubleshooting.
Functions and responsibilities include:
• Lead troubleshooting activities on commercial and new product. This includes but is not limited to batch record review, lot tracing, raw material evaluation, design and execution of experiments.
• Lead complex process change projects, including demonstrating feasibility, developing validation protocol, executing proper qualifications, and driving necessary changes (equipment, process, test method, procedure, training, etc.)
• Continuously assess improvements to emulsion polymerization process to consistently produce colloidal solutions at the desired nanometer-range particle sizes. Understand the chemistry and characterization of surface modified nanoparticles.
• Familiar with Quality System Regulations and comply with all FDA, ISO and IVDD standards.
• Fit into production need to manufacture latex reagents or other semi-finished product in Specialty Reagents area as needed.
• Be able to summarize data, monitor project progress and communicate timely to peers and management via standard written, oral, or visual means.
• Understand immunoassay, direct operators to move forward with analysis on the testing data.
• Knowledge and utilization of Lean Manufacturing processes is a plus.
Capabilities:
• Understand solid phase synthetic process, reaction and purification. Understand polymerization mechanism and surface chemical modification.
• Have general chemistry lab techniques, such as mixing, filtration, sonication, centrifuging, etc.
• Know to safely handle chemicals and biochemicals.
• Trained on good laboratory practices, good documentation practices.
Requirements:
• Ph.D. or Masters’ degree in chemistry preferred or equivalent work experiences.
• Have a minimum of 5 years experiences in chemistry or biology labs.
