JOB DESCRIPTION :
Cell Operator is a Die Casting Machine Operator, who operates an Aluminum Die Casting "Cell" which consist of the die cast machine, a trim press and a robot that takes newly cast parts and moves them to the trim machine next to the casting machine

SUMMARY : Insures the quality of product is being produced in the cell by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Maintains normal efficiency levels. Monitors all reports being filled out within the cell and assures that such reports are completely filled out and that the data is accurate. All sheets are placed in the file tray.
Ensures that all characteristics specified on the Control Plan are within specification or are deviated by the supervisor, using the Process Deviation Form. Ensures that all equipment is functioning properly and safely or is deviated by the supervisor, using the Process Deviation Request Form. Responsible for observing the quality of products for excessive flash, surface finish of casting and other obvious or specifically cautioned defects. Responsible for the containment of all non-conforming product produced in their cell, and that all product is properly identified and dispositioned. Responsible for any rework that is performed within their cell. The product must be dispositioned and corrected before leaving the cell unless deviated by the supervisor, or quality representative, using the Process Deviation Request Form. If the rework is not acceptable, it is the responsibility of the Cell Operator to rectify it or notify the aluminum supervisor. Set Up or Assist set-up person with tool set-ups within the cell and verify that the correct tooling is used for a specified job. Stocks ingots onto bar loader or feed by hand. Responsible for following proper safety procedures and maintaining a clean die cast machine area removing all debris, and wiping down and moping area. Perform other duties that may be assigned by the department supervisor or manager.

QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to communicate effectively with other employees of organization.

REASONING ABILITY
Able to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms. WORK ENVIRONMENT
