Adhere to professional standards, follow policies and procedures and abide by federal, state and local requirements, as well as professional standardsAssist the nurses and other staff as neededCheck vital signs and record daily information in the patient's chartAssist residents with activities of daily living. This includes delivering meals to patients, turning and ambulating patients and providing plenty of fresh water, as well as extra nourishment between mealsProvide adjunct care for the patient, including ice packs, non-sterile dressings and therapeutic bathsHelp patients with personal hygiene. Provide patients with bedpans, help with baths, shampoos and showersbasic computer skillsAbility to work as part of a team and to handle multiple tasks safely and effectivelyHigh tolerance for working under pressure and handling critical situations with a cool headGood communication skills, including the ability to communicate sensitive information with empathy ("bedside manner")Requirements:High school or equivalentCompletion of Illinois state-approved CNA certification training courseRecent experience in a skilled nursing environmentMust be able to work in collaboration with the nursing teamShould be able to work scheduled hours including some weekends/ HolidaysSolid work historyIllinois certification in active status and good standing
