JOB DESCRIPTION :
This is Scientist contract position at our Client site in Ridgefield, CT.
Duration: 24 months
Pay Rate: $34
Duties:
  • The Immunology & Respiratory Diseases department is seeking a Scientist I to join our Ridgefield, CT Research team to support disease positioning efforts and early biomarker discovery through the application of in vitro & ex vivo cell assays and genomics-based gene expression profiling studies.
  • The successful applicant will: comply with all applicable regulations, performing routine lab duties in a safe manner; initiate and complete routine procedures in an efficient manner with supervision; participate/assist in the execution of non-routine experiments; operate and be responsible for lab equipment; communicate own work orally and in writing and provide input for scientific reports; reports and treats data with a high degree of integrity and ethics; maintain proper records and scientific notebooks in accordance with SOPs and policies.
Skills:
  • Ability to operate laboratory equipment and apparatus
  • Agile in learning new technology and concepts
  • Concise and accurate reporting of technical data and information
  • Ability to troubleshoot
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Appropriate level of understanding of applicable regulations
  • Experience and knowledge with human tissue processing, human primary cell culturing and manipulation is desirable.
  • Experience and knowledge with RNA isolation, PCR, qPCR and RNA-seq is a strong plus.
Education: Bachelor's degree in a relevant scientific area, e.g. biology, immunology, biochemistry, medical laboratory science
