<p>Custodian<br /> <br /> Job Description <br /> <br /> Hospital staff are real heroes during this time, and this is a chance for you to be one of them!<br /> <br /> The Custodian provides custodian services to maintain assigned buildings and surroundings in a clean and orderly condition. Positions perform related duties as required.<br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> Depending upon area of assignment, duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:<br /> Sweeps and mops rooms, halls and stairways; strips, waxes and buffs floors; vacuums and shampoos rugs and carpets.<br /> Dusts and polishes desks, counter tops, and furniture. Cleans windows and venetian blinds. Cleans mirrors, drinking fountains, and interiors and exteriors of refrigerators.<br /> Cleans offices, restrooms, and fixtures; cleans and disinfects patient care areas following established procedures.<br /> Pushes or lifts furniture and other heavy items; climbs ladders, and performs other tasks requiring physical agility.<br /> Collects and moves medical waste. Empties waste containers; may use trucks or forklift in collecting trash. Operates equipment such as trash compactors and autoclave.<br /> Mixes cleaning chemicals and solutions. Restocks cleaning supplies as needed.<br /> Participates in the training of new employees.<br /> Provides vacation and temporary relief as required.<br /> Meets or exceeds cleanliness guidelines<br /> Strict fanatical adherence to mandated safety guidelines!<br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> Job Requirements:<br /> <br /> <br /> Minimum 1 year of experience in cleaning, housekeeping, custodial<br /> Good communication skills<br /> Reliable transportation<br /> What you bring to the job?<br /> Great work ethic<br /> Frequent lifting and carrying of items of 10 pounds, occasionally up to 50 pounds, and ability to move 80 lb. containers<br /> Great attitude and ability to work in a team<br /> Able to work on your feet for extended periods of time</p>
