Penski Staffing, a CorTech company, is a service-oriented staffing/recruiting company dedicated to working closely with our clients. We are currently hiring for a Customer Sales Associate.

JOB SUMMARY: The Customer Sales Associate is responsible for providing direct assistance to customers in a manner that provides outstanding service to the customer and ensures that company policies and procedures are maintained. This position is also responsible for the merchandising and maintenance of his/her assigned area in the store.

JOB TASKS:
- Perform all job duties according to safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe environment for all personnel, customers and vendors.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA standards and participate in proactive measures to ensure that safety is a top priority at all times.
- Abide by the company’s zero tolerance of drug or alcohol use in the workplace. Submit to random drug testing in accordance with applicable state and federal laws. Any staff member who has a confirmed positive test result for illegal drugs shall be terminated immediately
- Greet customers, ascertain each customer’s wants or needs, identify any concerns and seek a resolution. Provide outstanding quality customer service.
- Answer questions regarding the store and its merchandise.
- Maintain merchandise standards for assigned area (product fully stocked, priced correctly and fronted).
- Maintain housekeeping standards for assigned area.
- Place special orders or contact other stores to find desired items. Fill out appropriate forms and paperwork.
- Develop and implement sales strategies to reduce overstock and slow moving items in assigned area.
- Watch for and recognize security risks and thefts, and know how to handle or prevent these situations.
- Maintain professional and product knowledge by attending company sponsored seminars and classes.
- Maintain knowledge of current promotions and policies.
- Maintain confidentiality in the workplace at all times.
- Keep product literature and price books for assigned department updated and organized.
- Report any damage to product, equipment, or facilities to direct supervisor on the same day that the damage occurs.
- Perform all other duties as necessary or assigned in a timely manner.

REQUIREMENTS:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- One year experience in the construction field or retail environment.

OTHER SKILLS:
- Ability to get along well with others and respond to various situations with flexibility, tact and diplomacy. - Ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences.
- Ability to communicate information and ideas by speaking clearly so others will understand.
- Ability to deal with stressful situations with composure, clear thinking, and effective responses.
- Ability to meet deadlines and productivity standards for projects and assignments.
- Ability to operate a computer, telephone, fax machine and printer.
- Ability to recognize hazardous materials/situations and respond according to policies and procedures.
- The employee is expected to work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the job including weekends and evenings.
