JOB DESCRIPTION:

Data Entry Specialist will primarily support the ECMO Team

Essential Job Functions:
1. Completes data entry of relevant patient data into a national ELSO database. Completes data entry of relevant patients into MH database for research and quality improvement.

2. Audits database routinely for errors and works with appropriate staff for resolutions.

3. Distributes reports and forms to appropriate departments in a timely manner.

4. Utilizes technology to improve efficiency of the data entry area.

5. Record and report minutes from bi-monthly ECMO meetings.

6. Work with ECMO Team on ECMO Agenda as well as action plans for agenda items.

7. Be available for bedside rounding with ECMO Coordinator to capture current patient data.

8. Complete other duties as assigned.

Additional Job Functions:

1. Contributes to on-going process improvement within ECMO Team by making process suggestions.

2. Supports the mission and vision of the Methodist Healthcare System and demonstrates excellent customer service at all times.

3. Understands and is committed to helping the Methodist Healthcare System and its associated facilities achieve its goals under the MHS Financial Performance Plan by always being mindful of cost effectiveness in all duties.

4. The job responsibilities of this position may include cross training in other functions or positions to insure satisfactory operation of the department/work-unit or to permit flexible staffing assignments.

1. Must learn and comply with system and facility safety policies and rules; must use appropriate safety equipment and procedures at all times; must immediately report all unsafe conditions to supervisors; must be familiar with all safety features of equipment, tools or materials encompassed by job duties; and must check with supervisors (prior to job performance) if there is a question as to the safe procedure to be used for any job function.

2. Adheres to the MHS Code of Conduct and demonstrates ethical behavior as expected by our patients, colleagues and the community. Understands the personal obligation to report any activity that appears to violate applicable laws, rules, regulations or the Code of Conduct itself.
