This position will require in-person work. There is opportunity for Covid-19 Vaccination via Milwaukee County Office of Emergency Management, but vaccination is not required at this time. This position is required to complete an airport background check including fingerprinting on first day in order to receive an employee badge. Failure to pass background check will result in not being able to work at the airport. Airport Desktop Support Contractor Provides expert level technical assistance in support and preparation of desktop supported applications and hardware. Requires extensive knowledge of and experience with desktop technology including, but not limited to, desktop operating systems, desktop applications, desktop hardware, laptop systems, desktop printer support, iPhones, other supported wireless devices, and peripherals. This role receives support issues via phone, email and a ticketing system and is responsible for assisting the end user or escalating the issue to the networking team. Has 4-7 years of experience in Desktop Support. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required. Duties and responsibilities 1. Provide end user support to Milwaukee Mitchell Airport Administration staff. 2. Manages airport administration desktop, laptop and tablets including the in-vehicle equipment. 4. Manage help desk system (monitor for and respond to help desk tickets as they are submitted by end users.) 5. Troubleshooting LAN / WAN connectivity issues. 6. Support and administration of VOIP and cellular telephones. 8. Support of cloud based and on-premise line of business applications. 9. Develop training material and conduct end user training. 10. Hardware and software asset management. 11. Performs other duties as required or assigned. Qualifications 1. At least five (5) years of full-time experience in an IT support related field. 2. Preference will be given to candidates with prior military or public safety experience. 3. Valid Wisconsin driver's license. 4. Knowledge of and familiarity with supporting computers running Microsoft Windows in an Active Directory domain environment. 5. Knowledge of and familiarity with identifying and troubleshooting network related issues. 6. Willingness and ability to learn new technologies and take on additional responsibilities as required by the position. Working conditions This is an office-based job in a dynamic building but may also include working in industrial environments such as mechanic's garages as well as the outdoors. While performing the duties of this position, the incumbent is required to: interact and communicate frequently with the public, other staff members, and/or third parties transacting business with the Mitchell Airport.
