JOB DESCRIPTION:

A Technician IV tests high reliability multi-circuit assemblies and subassemblies using electronic tests such as: Flash, capacitance, insertion loss, auto test, voltage drop, mechanical/visual tests such as: Gauging and measuring to ensure parts meet tolerance levels and functions according to specifications. A Technician IV is responsible as a technical resource in assisting Operations, Quality and Engineering in efforts to include, but not limited to the prototyping and pre-production of assemblies to ensure units operate in accordance with specifications as mandated by customer as well as spectrum internal standards. They identify opportunities for improvement and assists in root cause analysis of unit failures.

· Prepares test area by determining materials and machinery by reading work orders, following production drawings and/or receiving verbal instructions regarding duties to be performed

· Verifies parts by comparing provided part with part description from work documentation

· Assures consistent and reliable test results by setting up test equipment such as: flash, cap, IL and other equipment required in test plan. Checks test plan and selects machines according to test requirements

· Test parts for compliance with job specifications utilizing electronic equipment and hand tools

· Verify dimension of parts using magnifying device and standard measuring instruments

· Check for defects by visually inspecting parts or hand testing parts using simple go/no go type gauges

· Verify quantity of lot by hand counting or weigh counting using standard scales

· Maintain record of work progress such as: results of tests and inspections on work documentation

· Assist in creation of test procedures, assembly procedures, manufacturing guidelines, performance specifications

· Interpret supplier control documents, engineering guideline documentation and other associate documents instrumental to the prototyping and pre-production phases of new product implementation

· Optimize tuning and alignment procedure on new products launched into manufacturing in order to enhance repeatability at the highest level of quality and minimize cycle time

· Able to test and troubleshoot with no supervision the functional performance of microwave assemblies to include all circuit topologies and environmental stress requirements such as: random vibration, mechanical shock, temperature testing, high power testing

· Properly record and analyze data for and with appropriate personnel

· Read displays that indicate electronic characteristics: Insertion loss, return loss, time delay, harmonic conformance, gain, frequency response

· Ability to work affectively in a team environment

· Maintain positive attitude

· Confers with engineers, technicians, production personnel and others regarding procedures, failure analysis to facilitate continuous product and process improvement

· Assist in training other technicians and mentor them

· Periodically assist in other production areas at the discretion of Supervisor

· Assist in other production areas as needed

· Devise test equipment set up to evaluate performance and operation of nonstandard or customer returned units.

 

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

· Education: Associate's Degree/Technical school or Military Electronics

· Experience Years: 5-8 years Functional Testing and troubleshooting of RF Devices.

· Experience Type: Manufacturing Environment (Electronics)

· Able to use basic mathematics in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals
