JOB DESCRIPTION:

Engineer III, Electrical Engineer

The Electrical Engineer III is an individual contributor with a high level of autonomy and impact, who participates and may technically lead the creation and extension of electronic assemblies for Omnicell's Automation and Robotics product lines. Success is accomplished by the broad application of electrical engineering, principles, theories, and concepts.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze electrical requirements against design, time, and cost constraints
  • Develop, detailed designs, schematics, and wiring diagrams
  • Create engineering prototypes of electrical control panels
  • Selection and validation of commercial off shelf components
  • Support the creation and execution of test plans for engineering verification testing
  • Support the design and development of test-sets in support of engineering verification testing
  • Support manufacturing and vendor issues
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, with timely completion of tasks
  • Support the diagnosing, troubleshooting, and resolution of technical problems with products
  • Support service department as required to resolve complex customer issues

Required Knowledge and Skills

  • Prior experience developing electrical panels and infrastructure for automation
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and approval processes: UL, FCC
  • Knowledge of ESD and EMI mitigation techniques for machine building.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Self-starter, capable of working independently as well as building strong cross functional collaborative relationships.
  • Results oriented and disciplined, while still comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline
  • 5+ years of relevant experience
  • Proven success in bringing electrical designs from concept to release

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience developing FDA approved medical devices
  • Prior experience developing automation / mechatronic / robotic products
