JOB DESCRIPTION:

JOB SUMMARY
Supervise the overbuild of a new FTTH project on existing HFC system, in Michigan. Must be able to read and understand system designs to ensure the proper construction of aerial and underground fiber optics and splicing enclosures. Enforce NESC and Bell standards as well as client quality standards. The purpose of this position is to manage all phases of OSP construction projects in a manner consistent with policies, procedures, quality work standards, customer needs, and applicable local, state and federal regulations. The Construction QC Coordinator will report to the Deployment Manager on the status of construction projects and serve as the primary point of contact for the construction crews, local and state government agencies, and utility companies. This individual will oversee and remedy safety related items with reporting and documentation of corrective actions. This individual will oversee the construction efforts performed by the vendors and validate invoiced items for both build compliance and correct quantities.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
• 3+ years of OSP Construction Management experience in Telco/Fiber Optic plant including: Permitting, Construction, fiber testing report validation, and final QC documentation completion
• Ability to understand HFC, Copper and Fiber design maps, and work with DWG viewers.
• Understanding of red line prints and validation of changes with engineering teams
• Assist PM in the reporting all financial status and outlining areas of financial impact,
• Create good working relationships, and team first attitude
• Ability to update a tablet-based construction management software tool with completion totals.
• Ability to be on their feet and work in adverse weather conditions for up to 8 hrs per day
• Follow up with QC corrective action to the construction partners that they are overseeing
• Ability to assist with the project tracking tools and creating solutions-based ideas to keep project momentum.
• Ability to travel
• OSHA certification 10, 30 training is a plus
• Individuals should have experience with Coax/Copper/Fiber Optic plant construction, service or plant maintenance, understanding of outside cable plant construction practices, and applicable regulations and standards.
• Must have strong computer skills (MS Excel, Outlook, Word).
• Ability to prioritize many work tasks simultaneously, working efficiently and effectively under deadlines.
• Ability to organize and control personnel and materials.
• Must possess a valid driver's license with safe driving record.
• Bilingual a plus (English/Spanish)
This is for 2 Quality Control Coordinators for an Outside Plant cabling job. This is in Wyandotte, Michigan, so any surrounding cities, Detroit, etc are fine to search in.
