Short Description:
Support the team in developing and documenting lab test equipment.

Must haves:
• Solidworks experience (or similar CAD)
• LabVIEW, Arduino, or Python experience(or similar software)
• Good documentation practices

The function of the Equipment Development Technician position is to help develop new equipment for tests that enhance the ability to accurately measure the performance of BD medical devices. This includes the ongoing evaluation of current and future equipment, with an emphasis on safety, ergonomics, machine capability, and machine repeatability. This position works closely with Product Development Engineers to implement new test and design capabilities.

High Level Responsibilities
• Translating needs into equipment requirements that describe the required functionality and performance.
• Design and develop in-house equipment and capabilities.
• Create SOPs which detail the theory of operation, specifications, drawings, schematics, directions for use (DFU), calibration, maintenance, and validation requirements.
• Support activities to develop and release IQ, OQ, and PQ protocols and reports as needed.
• Communicating with suppliers to obtain and compare quotes for off-the-shelf equipment. Work with Product Development Engineers through the selection process.
• Work with suppliers to complete Installation Qualification(IQ), Operational Qualification(OQ), and Performance Qualification(PQ) as needed.
• Gathers, maintains, formats, compiles and manipulates technical data, such as laboratory or material test results and engineering design changes, products engineering documents, reports, and drawings (flow charts, block diagrams and schematics)
• Prepares reports and summaries, including quantitative analysis
• Help scope equipment for use and complete qualifications
• Works with team to organize lab functions
• Notifies manager upon recognition of factors that may affect project
• Helps develop prototype processes and test set-ups
• Execution of designed test protocol and conduct testing
• Effective documentation and communication of test results
• Support hardware debugging is a plus
• Provides completion of technical tasks.
• Provides technical support to engineers on a variety of technical tasks.

Min. Qualifications
• Advanced LabVIEW user able to quickly understand and architect a framework that includes code generation and skeleton generation for future projects across segments.
• Demonstrated expertise in CAD modeling (preferably SolidWorks).
• Knowledge and experience integrating mechatronics.
• Development of specifications for automation hardware
• Able to organize and prioritize assignments providing direction to and participation in assigned cross-functional team.
