2pm-10:30pm

Cortech is seeking a Fabrication Technician in Milford, NJ.


The Fabrication technician is responsible for setting up and operating polishing equipment to polish optics and optical components to meet established conformance standards. The incumbent performs a variety of finish surface grinding and polishing activities including mounting, grinding, polishing, cutting to size and inspecting ceramic material following established methods and procedures. Equipment includes but is not limited to grinding, lapping and polishing machinery. Operation of equipment also includes daily operator maintenance, adjustments and cleaning.

Job Duties:
• Ability to work from travelers or work orders, blueprints, specifications, drawings and process instructions.
• Operate a variety of machines to cut, chamfer, smooth, polish, clean, and size parts to customer specifications; speeds and feeds are generally prescribed and sequence of operations specified
• Inspect, record data, and move parts to required location.
• Ensure first piece run with inspection of part.
• Conduct in-process inspection through visual and dimensional checks of parts; care is required to ensure fabricated part parallelism, angle, concentricity, thickness, finish, and any other characteristics called for in customer specifications.
• Maintain necessary data and records.
• Move materials in performance of duties or as directed.
• Detect and report improper operation, faulty equipment, defective materials, and unusual conditions to proper supervision.
• Troubleshoot and repair faulty equipment as needed with escalation to maintenance as appropriate.
