Job Description
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Create and run a variety of reports for bonuses, commissions, performance reviews, etc.
- Cross-train with benefits and payroll to be able to step in as a backup during absences.
- Ensure that all new hires have all of their required documentation and that it is filed in the personnel file.
- Track and respond to unemployment claims.
- Manage the offboarding of team members including conducting exit interviews for voluntary resignations.
- Process, verify, and maintain documentation related to HR activities such as staffing, performance evaluations, compliance training, and team member personnel files.
- Handle general team members' questions pertaining to company policies, procedures, and benefit programs.
- Assist in tracking legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting Human Resources functions such as ADA, EEO, FLSA, FMLA, LOA, and OSHA.
- Partner with the Operations Trainers to facilitate New Employee Orientation (NEO) as needed.
- Assist with special projects as needed.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES/EDUCATION:
- Prior solid experience in dealing with most of, if not all of the following HR areas: benefits, compensation, performance management, payroll processing, and talent management is strongly preferred.
- Must be detail orientated.
- Strong communication skills are a must.
- Excellent written and oral communication abilities, with an ability to provide reports with actionable recommendations.
- Keen attention to detail.
- A friendly, approachable demeanor is essential.
- Must have excellent time management, organizational and multitasking skills for a fast-paced environment.
- Must be able to work under pressure with changing priorities.
- Must be able to maintain the confidentiality of all team member issues (e.g., compensation, corrective action, employee relations issues, performance reviews, promotions, etc.)
- Proficiency with Microsoft Suite of products including, but not limited to Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Experience with HRIS/Payroll software such as ADP, Ceridian, Paycom, Paylocity, or PayServ.
- A high school diploma, GED or equivalent is required, but an undergraduate degree in an applicable field is preferred.
- 2 - 4 years of progressive human resources generalist experience with either a private or public company is required.
- Prior human resources generalist experience working within a corporate business setting for a large employer (500+ employees) will be invaluable.
