Human Resources Assistant Manager Operations

Job Purpose

To assist the Human Resources Manager in maximizing the productivity of the Manufacturing Company by optimizing the effectiveness of its employees and contract associates.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Carries out operations according to directions from the Human Resources Manager
  • Maintains department records and reports
  • Recruits, interview, tests, and selects employees, and contract associates to fill vacant positions
  • Bridges management and worker relations by addressing demands, grievances, and other issues
  • Prepares employee separation notices and related documentation and conducts exit interviews to determine reasons behind separations
  • Prepares reports and recommends procedures to reduce absenteeism and turnover
  • Answers phone calls, deals with inquiries, and provides general information to job applicants regarding Human Resources procedures
  • Ensures that all employee records are accurate and well maintained
  • Organizes and conducts induction ceremonies and training for new staff
  • Organizes and conducts annual training for employees
  • Involved in the performance review of staff
  • Manages sickness and absent records and paperwork
  • Involved in the disciplinary and grievance procedure, as well as present when disciplinary hearings are held
  • Oversees the Labor Control process at Client Company
  • Qualifications

  • Good leadership and management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Organizational skills and the ability to understand detailed information
  • Interpersonal skills to form effective working relationships with people at all levels
  • Experience of working with a culturally diverse workforce
  • Curiosity and a willingness to challenge organizational culture where necessary
  • Experience working and handling confidential data
  • Accurately enters sensitive computer data and updates manual records
  • Knowledge of labor laws and regulations
  • Integrity and approachability
  • Working Conditions/Physical Demands

    This position is mainly office-based but requires the ability to move quickly throughout the manufacturing facility to handle Human Resources issues when the occur. The role can be quite stressful, particularly when there are staffing problems or disciplinary issues to deal with.
