Cortech is seeking an Inspector in New York.


The Inspector Position in the EEDM Program Delivery & Customer Engagement section will provide technical support to the department by conducting pre- and post-inspections of energy efficient measures installed at customer locations; document existing conditions at the location to ensure consistency with energy efficiency and demand management program requirements; and serve as a technical resource to the department.

The specific role that inspections play in EE/DM programs is multi-faceted. The objectives include:
--Conduct field visits to verify and document baseline or existing conditions for supporting savings calculation as compared to the application (pre-installation only)
--Maintain detailed and accurate records of inspections and provide documentation to program management
--Confirm project specifics that are not clear (as per engineering request)
--Check that the application reflects actual installed equipment (post-installation only)
--Collect additional data or missing documentation for savings calculation or support of project application
--Enhance customer engagement inspectors are the "eyes and ears," as well as the face of Con Edison
--Provide a +1-customer experience by assisting in identifying additional EE opportunities and creating sales leads
--Distribute program collateral
--Follow and optimize strict project timelines to achieve required program goals
--Ensure that safe work practices are followed and the environment is fully protected in accordance with Company policy and governmental regulations

Core Responsibilities:
--Collaborate and coordinate with customers, trade allies, contractors, vendors, department staff and other stakeholders to ensure accurate implementation of program measures.
--Conduct pre- and post-inspections of energy efficiency measures installed at customer locations; inspection tasks include: preparation, scheduling, conducting the on-site/ virtual inspection, reporting of findings, and conducting follow up (as necessary).
--Conduct field visits to customer locations throughout service area to verify installation of energy efficient measures and document existing conditions.
--Review program information and project applications for compliance with technical requirements.
--Maintain detailed and accurate records of inspections and provide documentation to program management team.
--Educate customers, trade allies and other external stakeholders about the Company's energy efficiency and demand management programs.
--Keep abreast of industry trends.
--Support the engineering team (if needed) based on work needs and priorities.
--Perform other related tasks and assignments as required


REQUIRED:
--At least 5 years of work experience, including 3 or more years of experience in the commercial energy field
Knowledge of building energy systems
--Excellent presentation and analytical skills.
--Experience in energy efficiency, demand management or other competitive, market-driven utility programs
--Strong written and oral communications skills
--Must be able and willing to travel within Company service territory, as needed.
--Utility, deregulated energy efficiency or sustainability experience.
--Effective communication of technical information
--Experience interacting with customers and/or contractors and trade allies
--Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to drive results through collaboration
--Strong analytical skills and detail oriented
--Self-starter with demonstrated abilities to work as an individual contributor and on teams
--Technical writing skills
--Flexibility to deal with ambiguity and comfortable working in a dynamic environment
--Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
--Experience educating customers, contractors and trade allies about energy efficiency and /or selling customers energy efficient equipment
--Familiar with new energy efficient technologies
--Bachelor's Degree in Architecture, Engineering, or related technical disciplines
--At least 5 years of work experience, including 3 or more years of experience in the commercial energy field
