<p><strong>Required:</strong></p> <p>Associate's degree in related discipline or equivalent is required plus a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.<br /> <br /> <strong>CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS:</strong><br /> Department of Defense Secret security clearance is preferred at time of hire.<span> </span>Candidates must be able to obtain a SECRET clearance within a reasonable amount of time from date of hire. Applicants selected may be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. <strong>Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.</strong></p> <p><strong>Overview:</strong></p> <p>General Dynamics Mission Systems is currently seeking a Lab and Deployment Technician in our Scottsdale, AZ location.<br /> <br /> The MUOS Lab & Deployment Tech will act as a leader and mentor to new technicians in the support of engineering activities such as designing, testing, checking-out, modification, fabrication and assembly of prototype electro mechanical systems, experimental design circuitry, laser/light transmission devices or specialized test equipment. This may entail performing the following:</p> <ul> <li>Interprets complex engineering drawings, diagrams and schematics, and understand the necessary interfaces</li> <li>Performs complex system level troubleshooting to component level</li> <li>Works from schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions, layouts or defined plans to perform testing, checkout and troubleshooting functions</li> <li>Lays out, builds, calibrates, adjusts, installs and maintains equipment, components, devices or systems</li> </ul> <p><strong>Duties & Tasks </strong></p> <ul> <li>Supports engineering activities such as design, test, check-out, modification, fabrication and assembly of prototype electromechanical systems</li> <li>Constructs, troubleshoots, calibrates, adjusts, tests, diagnoses, and maintains equipment, components, devices, or systems </li> <li>Interprets complex engineering drawings, diagrams and schematics, and understand the necessary interfaces </li> <li>Will be required to support Deployment activities at customer sites (CONUS and International)</li> <li>Works from schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions, layouts or defined plans to perform testing, checkout and trouble-shooting functions </li> <li>Identifies and helps prototype new preventative maintenance tasks </li> <li>Will be expected to lead, direct, and organize Technician work </li> <li>Works with associates in other departments and understands cross-functional relationships </li> <li>May be required to support development of test specifications and procedures </li> </ul> <p> <strong>Knowledge, Skills and Abilities</strong></p> <ul> <li>As a skilled specialist, completes tasks in resourceful and effective ways </li> <li>Understands implications of their work and makes recommendations for improvements </li> <li>Ability to perform duties and tasks with minimal supervision required </li> <li>Ability to effectively interact and communicate with internal and external team members including customers</li> <li>Ability to use computers and software applications to assist in job execution, with special focus on Excel </li> <li>Mechanically inclined and able to maintain, repair, and install equipment that is part of a "live and operational" system </li> <li>Capable of working remotely with limited local support </li> </ul>
