What is the UX Research & Design Team?

We are constantly fostering the innovation and the implementation of cutting-edge technologies while building high-performance and scalable solutions. The UX (User Experience) team's mission is to investigate and understand the human need at the core of business challenges and advocate for the end-user as we design new technology solutions across Tyson. As a Lead on the Tech UX Team, you will be applying design thinking methods inside a well-established enterprise, where users can be the C-suite, Delivery Drivers, Cattle Ranchers, or Plant Team Members. If you enjoy working in a rapidly changing environment, being a lead on a team of Researchers and Designers, influencing the strategic direction of a large global organization, this position will provide you with that opportunity.


How can I be part of Tyson Technology?

Tyson Foods Tech Team is seeking a qualified individual to be a Lead Research & Design Analyst on our IT UX team located in our Northwest Arkansas office. The ideal candidate is creative, a demonstrated leader, proven experience applying research and design concepts in designing Technology solutions, excellent problem-solving and communication skills. Key focus areas will be defining and growing our approach to design concepts, being a go-to leader to design new critical technology solutions, collaborating with Business and IT Team Members on projects to design and deliver solutions, and be a key contributor in establishing and driving adherence to design standards.

 

Do you have the differentiating skills and experience?

Required Skills:

  • Proven ability and multi-year experience delivering research and design project deliverables related to Technology solutions, leading research and discovery sessions, design workshops, and development of artifacts such as videos, mood boards, landscape diagrams, personas, user journeys, etc.
  • Proven ability to effectively communicate research insights, solution concepts, and design decisions to stakeholders, both visually and verbally.
  • Proven ability to evangelize and drive outreach activities to expand design competence in an organization.
  • Experience leading and working on a Design system and standards
  • Ability to drive effective communication and at times conflict resolution with Developers, Product Managers, and Project Managers.
  • Ability to provide constructive feedback and mentor other Team Members.
  • Work independently without supervision, motivated/self-starter.
  • Experience in applying Agile practices/methodologies in leading initiatives and participating in projects.
  • Experience with tools to aid in the research and design process such as Adobe Creative Cloud, Mural, Figma, Microsoft Office Suite, Jira
  • Stay apprised of new solutions and strategies in the market that will drive enhanced Research and Design practices that are aligned to Tyson's architecture principles.

 

Requirements

  • Education: BA or BS degree in User Experience Design, Product Management, Graphic Design, or other related discipline. Equivalent experience may be acceptable
  • Experience: 6+ years of experience in delivering UX projects, and Design Research of technical solutions.
  • Portfolio of UX-focused work samples for solutions to demonstrate design concepts
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with demonstrated ability to tell the "story." Experience communicating technical information to stakeholders, peers, management, and non-technical team members. Experience communicating functional requirements to highly technical team members. Must be able to work cooperatively and effectively in a team environment and mentor less senior, less experienced team members.
  • Travel: Some travel may be required. Amount of travel will be determined by individual project requirements.
