POSITION OVERVIEW: Under the general supervision of the Laboratory Manager, Assistant Manager and the assigned Department Supervisor, performs and interprets routine and complex laboratory examinations in a high complexity (CLIA) environment. Assesses and verifies the validity of these results before releasing them to the providers. Assist in the development and writing new procedures and techniques. Perform related duties incidental to the work described herein. Gives direction to: Phlebotomists. Receives direction from: Laboratory Manager, Assistant Laboratory Manager, Department Supervisors. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Associate of Arts (AA) degree with a science discipline including documented training (6-12 months). The completion of a military (U.S. Armed Forces) medical laboratory training program of at least 12 months durationLICENSE/CERTIFICATIONMLT(ASCP) or other nationally recognized registry. Current Montana State Clinical Laboratory Technician (CLT) Certification.KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIESKnowledge of general laboratory processes and procedures comprising all departments including automated and manual methods. Knowledge and understanding of quality control and quality assurance standards and procedures including Proficiency Testing. Knowledge for use and maintenance of laboratory equipment. Knowledge of safety and infection control regulations.
