Shift: Days, 5x8, 0700-1900, Mon-fri
Guaranteed Hours: 36
Required Licensure: Credentialed in Radiology by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists
Required Certifications: (T) and (M), BLS/CPR from AHA only
Required Experience: 1 year Mammo Tech in a hospital setting
Must be willing to float when needed
MUST BE FULLY COVID AND FLU VACCINATED TO BE SUBMITTED - NO EXCEPTIONS
General Comments
Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities: Demonstrated skill in performing radiology procedures; ability to stand and walk a majority of the time during assigned hours; ability to lift, move and transport patients from wheelchairs and carts; communicate effectively with patients and their families; communicate effectively verbally and in writing with physicians, staff members and managers.
Working Conditions, Mental and Physical Requirements: Clean, temperature-controlled area. Standing and walking required.
Equipment Used: Mammography equipment, computer, copier, fax.
Responsibilities: Performs quality mammograms on patients requiring routine views. Performs quality mammograms on patients requiring diagnostic views. Performs quality mammograms on patients requiring magnification views. Performs quality mammograms on patients requiring a needle localization. Performs quality mammograms on patient with implants. Assists physicians with sterotactic biopsies. Obtains accurate patient information and documents thoroughly. Labels films with appropriate patient information. Utilizes mammography equipment according to manufacturer’s instructions. Participates in mammography quality control activities. Participates in the department’s continuous quality improvement activities. Provides patient discharge instructions. Alerts Clinical Nurse Specialist of patients requiring additional information or support. Alerts Imaging Supervisor to faulty equipment and actively assists with problem-solving. Alerts Director of dissatisfied patients and actively assists with problem-solving. Observes universal precautions consistently. Wears proper personal protective equipment when appropriate.
