Manager, Applications Omnium #LI-Remote Summary Responsible for managing a Hedge Fund Services applications group. Conducts performance management and career development processes, and staffing and disciplinary actions. Directs software project and consults with business unit partners to determine the most effective software solutions to solve business problems. Major Duties 1. Participates in developing the strategic plan for the HFS applications group and sets goals and priorities based on the direction set for the unit. Follows through to ensure that objectives are met. 2. Consults with business unit partners to define priorities and determine the most effective software solutions to solve business problems or address business needs. 3. Ensures compliance with all audit requirements including change control procedures and data security 4. Directs systems projects, including project planning, management status reporting, systems Specifications and implementation. May also implement and help identify measures to improve applications stability and availability, sustain and improve cost efficiencies and productivity gains 5. Seasoned multi-disciplinary expert with extensive technical and / or business knowledge and functional expertise 6. Focus of role is on execution of strategic direction of business function activities 7. Carries out complex initiatives involving multiple disciplines and/or ambiguous issues 8. Displays a balanced, cross-functional perspective, liaising with the business to improve efficiency, effectiveness and productivity 9. Makes staffing decisions, manages expenses and salary review process for the division 10. Participates in developing division strategic plan and sets goals and priorities based on the direction set for the unit; follows through to ensure that objectives are met 11. Provides leadership and guidance to staff, fostering an environment that encourages employee participation, teamwork, and communication. Qualifications: Knowledge/ Skills Excellent oral and written communication skills are required. Knowledge of different Database technologies and BI/Analytic platform/tools Experience with Snowflake. Knowledge of Opensource technologies, no-SQL database technology, micro service architecture, cloud-native development, continuous build, continuous integration and continuous deployment. In-depth Functional / Industry Knowledge is required Understanding of financial markets and instrument types. Highly flexible and adaptable to change Analytical and problem solving skills are needed for systems guidance. Leadership and organizational skills are required to determine the Business Unit's goals, resources needed, and to assess and develop the skills of staff. Experience Required A BS degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or related Computer Engineering or Science curriculum is required. A MS Degree is preferred.
