JOB DESCRIPTION:

CorTech International is currently looking to hire a Manufacturing Engineer for one of our clients in South Bend, IN.

This is a permanent full time 1st shift position. The wage ranges between 60K to 70K depending on experience.

Essential Job Functions:
• Develop technical training and documentation for manufacturing new and existing
products.
• Provide support for process documentation – standardize work, workflow, and training.
• Design and develop manufacturing support equipment.
• Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: develop, evaluate, and improve
manufacturing and assembly processes and methods to obtain maximum productivity
levels.
• Identify and implement cost reductions.
• Assist in maintaining ISO Quality Standards plant-wide.
• Monitor’s performance of process parameters that produce non-conforming products, low
yields, or product quality issues. Interfaces with Quality and Engineering Departments to
resolve manufacturing production issues.
• Evaluating existing manufacturing processes and identifying areas for improvement.
• Determining problem resolutions and implementing improvements.
• Developing detailed layouts for equipment, processes, and workflow.
• Researching and developing new processes, equipment, and products.
• Developing and implementing cost-saving measures and quality control systems.
• Ensuring manufacturing processes, equipment, and products comply with safety standards
and legal regulations.
• Maintaining research and activity documentation and preparing reports.
• Adheres to safety policies and strives to maintain our outstanding safety record.
• Keeps work area, tools, supplies and equipment clean and organized.
• Evaluating manufacturing processes
• Developing effective automated and non-automated systems
• Testing new and existing production procedures

Other Job Functions:
• Performs other job-related and department-related duties as assigned.
• Evaluate quality control processes and make recommendations for improvements in quality
control.
• Analyze production processes, schedules, methods, and other data and then provide
management with reports containing the data and statistics to enable management to
better understand future requirements needed for the manufacturing process.
• Ensure that the company’s manufacturing processes are following all government laws and
regulations.
• Review and calculate labor, material, and other production costs along with reviewing
schedules and future production requirements to assist management in decision making.
• Analyze and plan workflow, equipment placement and space requirements to improve
manufacturing efficiency.
• Coordinate equipment maintenance and repair services and make sure that manufacturer’s
procedures and instructions are followed to keep production equipment operational.

Supervisory Responsibility:
• Train staff in new and existing processes

Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities required:
• Degree in manufacturing, industrial, or mechanical engineering required.
• 2+ years of experience in manufacturing or industrial engineering preferred.
• Experience evaluating and troubleshooting manufacturing processes and machinery.
• Experience using CAD, CAM, data analysis programs, and related software.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Strong organization and management skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• High level of technical expertise.
• Strong analytical thinker.
• Proven ability to use Microsoft Office Suite – Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
• Ability to read and understand blueprints.
• Knowledge of ISO-9001-2008 and/or AIAG standards a plus.
• Must have excellent attendance record.
• Ability to work safely and with minimal supervision
• Ability to clearly communicate and interact with all levels of personnel professionally
• Ability to follow written and verbal directions and complete work independently
• Ability to adhere to workplace rules.

Work Environment/Physical Requirements:
• Ability to stand for long periods of time
• Able to push, pull, lift, and carry up to 50 pounds
• Standing, walking, bending, reaching, kneeling.
• Possibility of exposure to noise, uncontrolled temperatures, and chemicals
