Overview:   Our client works with the world's leading high-tech companies to power technology at our fingertips-from smart phones to smart cars-and meet the ongoing global chip demand. We're looking to hire a Mechanical Designer to our team, who will have the opportunity to participate in the design of state of the art industrial and high-tech manufacturing facilities.     Our Mechanical Designers will be responsible for working within our design team (also working in partnership with our Mechanical Engineers, Project Managers, and other stakeholders) to create and problem-solve exciting and complex designs that incorporate some of the latest design techniques, while ensuring that all specifications are met, and to ensure timely completion of projects. This position will be located in the N. Phoenix, AZ area.  Responsibilities:   Responsible for producing mechanical layouts, technical design details, compiles data, performs design computations, and assists in preparation of cost estimates that meet our specifications and client needs. Responsible for creating, influencing, and finalizing designs involving industrial and domestic piping, plumbing, chillers, boilers, HVAC ducting, exhaust, motor control, process chemicals, wastewater discharge, Fire Protection systems and possibly other mechanical building systems. Applies standard design techniques and procedures and exercising judgment in making minor adaptations and modifications to design concepts. Ensure quality control by complying with company and team design and CAD standards. Will work with our Mechanical Engineers, Project Managers, and other stakeholders on specific assigned objectives, complex features, and aid in deriving possible solutions to unusual problems. Coordinate needs, designs, and develops an understanding with other design disciplines (Electrical, Structural, Process/Chemical, Architectural, etc.) for design package needs. Perform field verifications / site walks to identify, verify, resolve, and incorporate solutions into design packages. May troubleshoot design problems in the field during construction. Qualifications:     High school diploma or GED is required. An Associate or Bachelor's degree-tracked in engineering or architectural fields is preferred. Demonstrated knowledge or experience with designs containing HVAC, chillers, boilers, pump hydraulics, exhaust, process chemicals, wastewater discharge, or other similar mechanical building systems Experience working with AutoCAD (or similar CAD system) is required. Experience with Revit or similar 3D modeling software, Navisworks, PIPE-FLO or similar hydraulic modeling software is a plus.
