MECHANICAL ENGINEER, PE
Clawson, MI

Immediate opening for an experienced Mechanical Engineer with experience in HVAC and Plumbing engineering design.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Responsibilities include those required to deliver quality service on schedule and within budget in a team environment
  • Completes HVAC project designs using AutoCAD and Revit while implementing processes to improve efficiency within the company
  • Perform calculations necessary for a complete design of HVAC and plumbing systems, including but not limited to heat load analysis, pressure loss calculations, duct sizing, and pipe sizing
  • Collaborates directly with architects, contractors, owners, and other engineers during all phases of design and construction
  • Performs construction administration tasks such as reviewing submittals, responding to RFI's, and writing field inspection
  • Assists in technical and procedural training for new employees
  • Conducts site surveys to record the existing mechanical and plumbing systems and determines the necessary modifications for tenant improvement projects
  • Plans and conducts work requiring judgment in the independent evaluation, selection, and adaptation and modification of standard accepted methods
  • Performs all assignments with minimal instructions as to general results expected exercises sound judgment to resolve complex problems
  • Performs detailed phases of engineering work on major projects including those of smaller or moderate scope Able to devise new approaches and solutions to problems encountered and communicates changes to the team
  • Supervise and coordinate the work of less experienced engineers and designers and be responsible for checking all drawings completed on the project within the discipline
  • Be able to take part in client contact and business development activities
  • Meets with client to define project scope, present project progress, and assure client satisfaction Be able to write all the specifications and assist in or prepare total cost estimates
  • Develops engineering concepts and presentations
  • Coordinate work with other disciplines
  • Stay current on new design methods and ideas
  • Some job-site travel (less than 25%
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering with PE registration.
  • 3 to 15 years' experience in both HVAC and Plumbing engineering design for Industrial, commercial, healthcare, educational and multi-family housing projects.
  • LEED Certification or energy management certification will be a plus.
