Leverage your laboratory experience in a fast- growing, international company that produces disruptive human diagnostic products that save lives worldwide.

SCOPE / SUMMARY: The Laboratory Technician will perform variety of laboratory tasks in support of new product development and/or product support of existing products.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Have knowledge of routine laboratory equipment and procedures
• Read, understand, and follow applicable standard operating procedures (SOPs)
• Prepare samples for laboratory testing
• Run laboratory testing
• Track sample and result information
• Enter results in reports
• Collect, track and analyze data as needed
• Perform minor machine maintenance procedures as directed
• Understand and follow OPTI MEDICAL SYSTEMS safety procedures
• Understand and follow OPTI MEDICAL SYSTEMS quality control procedures
• Basic understanding and following concepts of LEAN and 5S
• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned

EDUCATION:
• High school diploma or equivalent required, 2, 3 or 4 year degree in Science-related field preferred.
• Degree in biomedical, biology or chemistry preferred
EXPERIENCE:
• 0-1 years related experience, as outlined below.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
• General science background helpful.
• Ability to complete formal documentation; ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, material safety data sheets, operating and maintenance instructions and technical procedures.
• Ability to write testing protocols and summarize the results in report form
• Attention to detail.
• Organized with ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Must be able to interact confidently with regulatory agencies.
• Positive, can-do attitude.
• Personal computer skills, including strong typing ability and proficient use of Microsoft Office.
• Ability to speak effectively and respond to questions.
• Ability to use discretionary judgment.
