Job Description & Skill Requirement :

The Senior Systems Test Engineer will be responsible for planning and execution of Battery Management Systems (BMS) Hardware Integration Level (HiL) and systems level testing.

The engineer will define the project's testing objective/strategy and oversee quality control throughout its life cycle.

This includes coordinating the efforts of cross functional teams/suppliers in order to develop and execute test specification according to plan/ specifications.

Strong battery management system testing experience - testing methodologies, reports, scripting, defect tracking and traceability.

The Candidate will directly report to Manager of, Software Engineering.

The successful candidate ideally should have working knowledge of or hands-on experience within Battery Management Systems (BMS) systems testing.

Essential duties and responsibilities:

The engineer filling this position will be required to demonstrate detailed and in-depth technical knowledge and expertise in the following:

Act as primary contact for all system testing actives for internal and external teams

Lead project systems testing activities Testing strategy and execution mechanism

Closely work with cross functional teams, understand, re-product issues and provide analysis to development team

Review systems requirements/architecture and provide detailed feedback ambiguity, testability, and methodologies.

Develop and execute test plans, test setup, test methodologies, data analysis, and test reports.

Review and evaluate results of unit, component, subsystems, and systems level tests

Coordinate with suppliers on test plans and results

Focus on automation and re-usable testing mechanism along with test coverage and traceability is key

Ensure all testing is performed in a safe and efficient manner

Perform general maintenance and upkeep of testing setups

Design, implement, and integrate new technologies towards automation of testing

Assist in the implementation of risk assessment tools such as FTA, FMEA, and HAZOPs

Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Strong Battery Management Systems testing knowledge at bench and battery pack level.

Good knowledge in hardware in loop testing (HIL)

Experience with design modifications, including soldering components, assembly of wiring harnesses, and implementation of fixtures.

Experience with testing electrical systems / batteries including standard measurement and safety equipment for voltages up to 1000Vdc / 600Vac

Provides high integrity and oversight of processes protecting intellectual property

Identify and apply lessons learned to correct technical quality related issues

Have excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to write technical documents clearly and concisely

Experience developing scripts using VBA, JavaScript, LabView, Python or similar

Education and/or experience:

BS or MS in EE, Physics, Math or similar with 5 years' experience in electrical engineering

Minimum 5 years' experience developing and/or testing product performance and safety to meet applicable industrial standards and government regulations

Experience with battery management systems is desired

Experience with ETAS based Hardware In Loop (HIL) system and automation is desired

Demonstrates attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
