JOB DESCRIPTION:

Salary dependent on experience and if they are a CRT or RRT DEFINITION OF POSITION: The Respiratory Therapist (RT) will provide care and treatment to patients with respiratory cardiac illness or abnormalities associated with the cardiopulmonary system. The RT will initiate the Plan of Care and make necessary revisions and for the overall care of the patient. The RT initiates appropriate measures to prevent disease exacerbation, promote safety, makes referrals to rehabilitative services and coordinates all services provided by other disciplines/organizations. The RT will provide instruction to the Delivery Coordinator(s) for initial and ongoing training in Oxygen Equipment use, set-up and maintenance. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: 1) Perform a variety of duties often changing from one task to another of a different nature without loss of efficiency or composure; 2) accept responsibility for the direction, control, planning, of an activity; 3) make evaluations and decisions based on measurable or verifiable criteria; 4) Work independently; 5) recognize the rights and responsibilities of patient confidentiality; 6) convey empathy and compassion to those experiencing pain, grief, and illness; 7) relate to others in a manner that creates a sense of teamwork and cooperation; 8) communicate effectively and therapeutically with people from every socioeconomic background; 9) Incorporating guest relations in daily activities; 10) Is well groomed and demonstrates appropriate and professional conduct, has access to a reliable motor vehicle during designated work hours. QUALIFICATIONS: Education: Post High School Vocational/Specialized. Training Minimum Field-of-Expertise: Graduate of an accredited program in Respiratory Therapy. Certification/Registration: Oregon Registered or Oregon Certified. Active BLS or ability to obtain one 30 days of hire. Oregon Driver's License and proof of current auto insurance. Physical Demands: Prolonged, extensive, or considerable standing/walking. Pushes/pulls or moves/equipment. Lifts heavy supplies up to 25 pounds frequently. Occasionally needs to lift items up to 50 pounds. Must be able to identify, match, and distinguish colors.
