The Payroll Manager, Contract position reports to the Sr. Manager, Global Payroll at and is a remote position.
The Payroll Manager position at is a 9 month contract position to help support the Payroll Team at a high level, through the integration of a recent acquisition.
Leveraging your senior level experience with dynamic payroll processes and systems to ensure the day-to-day operations of US payroll occurs timely and accurately.
This role is responsible for partnering with the Payroll Leads and Sr Manager to help lead the team with the processing and administration of US payroll, Payroll Tax, Year-End, payroll projects, and some international payroll tasks.
The Payroll Manager will work collaboratively with various teams within HR such as HRIS, Benefits, Compensation, Talent Development and Field Delivery to deliver accurate and complete payroll to our US & International workforce.
She/he will apply their experience and knowledge to effectively improve the overall international and domestic payroll process.
She/he will ensure federal, state, local, and global compliance in all payroll and payroll tax activities.
Experience with mergers and an acquisition is a huge plus and will allow us to leverage experience throughout the integration.
Responsibilities:
Ensure accurate and timely audits, payroll processing, and approvals of payrolls
Ensure compliance and timely processing of payroll tax payments and oversight of third-party payroll tax filings
Work with third party payroll vendor to complete state tax registrations
Provide ideas, solutions, and tools to increase the effectiveness and efficiency of payroll and payroll tax processes.
Coordinate all year-end activities including reconciliations, tax filings, system updates, and employee statements.
Implements procedures and ensures compliance with all internal policies and controls as well as compliance with external laws, regulatory guidance, and SOX requirements.
Participate in payroll activities for system updates, conversions, mergers, and acquisitions, etc
Contribute to team, department and/or business results by performing more complex quantitative and qualitative analysis for business processes and/or projects.
Skills and Requirements:
Merger and Acquisition experience highly desired
2+ years of proven experience with Workday Payroll, Timekeeping and HR
8+ years of proven experience processing multi-state payroll for at least 4,000 employees
2 plus years of international payroll processing experience preferred (UK, Canada, India highly desired)
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple competing priorities
Strong analytical, systems skills, and experience
Ability to make timely and independent judgment decisions while working in a fast-paced and results-driven environment
Ability to work effectively in a team environment and across all organizational levels, where flexibility, collaboration, and adaptability are important
Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local/provincial payroll taxes
Proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically advanced Excel
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Business Administration, Accounting or a related field of study is strongly preferred
