CorTech is looking for an experienced
Electronics Validation Engineer to support development of high-speed electric turbochargers, turbo
compressors and motor controllers.
 
The eCOE is charged with creating complex electric boosting solutions to meet increasingly stringent
automotive regulations while still satisfying customer demands for performance and drivability.  We are
building a world class group that designs, develops and launches state of the art electric machines
coupled to our market leading turbocharger technologies. These products will span vehicles from
passenger cars to heavy duty commercial vehicles and include conventional and hybrid powertrains as
well as fully electric fuel cell vehicles. By leveraging our aerospace and motorsports experience and
heritage with high-power / high-speed electric motor technology, we lead the world in automotive boosting
electrification.  Garrett Advancing Motion is launching the first automotive production high speed electric
compressor that, in addition to including one of the highest power density electric motors placed into
automotive production, including the first automotive use of air foil bearings.  To continue this momentum,
we are growing our agile team of global experts to lead new technology development in Torrance, California.

Main Objectives:
We are looking for a talented Powertrain Validation Engineer to support the development of cutting-
edge new products. You will be responsible for defining, following and planning the end to end validation
plan for electric components, you will manage outsourcing some of these activities when appropriate.
The validation engineer is responsible for ensuring the compliance of a product with its specifications.
You will oversee, evaluate, and calibrate equipment, systems, and procedures used in the development
of products and will ensure safety, quality, and purity requirements are met.

Responsibilities include:
• Consults with management, assesses customer requirements, and studies product
characteristics to select validation objectives and standards.
• Collaborates and coordinates with appropriate departments and staff regarding the scheduling or
implementation of validation testing.
• Prepares protocols for validation or performance testing of new or modified manufacturing
equipment, processes, or systems.
• Analyzes data from validation tests to determine whether systems and processes meet required
criteria and specifications.
• Identifies nonconformities of product or process standard and offers recommendations for
resolving deviations.
• Develops and maintains databases for tracking test results, validation activities, or validated
systems.
• Develops, maintains, or reviews validation and compliance documentation including schematics,
protocols, and engineering change notices.
• Modifies testing methods or revisits test objectives and standards to resolve testing problems.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
 
Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Electric or related field required.
• 1-3 years of demonstrated experience developing and implementing electric vehicle requirements
and/or validation
• Hands-on experience or great knowledge and interest to execute test plans to validate electric
powertrain systems and/or components
• Demonstrated experience with the design, construction, implementation, and validation of electric
powertrain test equipment
 
Additional Qualifications:
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Full understanding of system level powertrain DV and PV testing
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Thorough understanding of applicable mathematics and scientific practices.
• Thorough understanding of related equipment and the ability to perform equipment modifications.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
