Job Description/Responsibilities: The Luxury and Import Public Relations Manager actively solicits media stories for Client Import and Luxury brands. Creates story opportunities through on-site media personnel visits, visits to major media markets and FAM tours. Pitches story ideas to major media, creates news releases, and handles reactive media and image requests. Works closely with brand teams to develop and implement yearly PR Plans for brands to optimize the value of public relations. Ensure brands are seen in the most positive media light. Proactively push to get stories and brand highlights in "A" priority media outlets. Ensure brands are showcased at major high end events and media are engaged. Set up one-on-one "A list" media meetings to highlight brands and meet key brand personnel. Monitor industry related outlets to ensure brands are accurately portrayed and take action to correct any misrepresentation. Identify opportunities to reach target consumers and work closely with brand teams on communication. Play an active role in the business/brand planning process to ensure PR is woven into plans to grow sales. Utilize PDS to identify places for self improvement in order to improve effectiveness at job and achieve goals. Collaborate with brand managers and Last Drop team on pro-active publicity/PR ideas for Key Priority Brands, and incorporate into PR plans. Work with brand directors to drive increased engagement for the brand through positive and creative media stories. Develop and nurture relationships with PR counterparts at Import brand suppliers and work together to promote brands to media. Work with team members on creating and implementing a yearly plan for high end events to include media pitches and visits. Create and implement yearly PR plans for brands including proactive PR pushing, communicating with and generating new "A" contacts. Develop PR Plans in conjunction with brand directors for Key Priority Brands in line with overall brand strategy. Work with brand teams to incorporate PR plans through social media, websites, online channels and media stories. Create press trips surrounding major launches of key brands. Plan market visits and face to face meetings with "A" list media. Recommend new media opportunities. Develop relationships with top spirits and consumer writers. Nurture relationships with all "A" and "B" writers, and add "C" writers to the CMS for future outreach . Respond to media requests for interviews, products, photos, etc. in a timely matter (ideally 24 hours or less) to ensure potential opportunity is not lost. Follow up with key media personnel after story runs or posts (as appropriate) to keep lines of communication open for future media opportunities. Create brand communication plans which include media relations strategies and press releases, in conjunction with brand teams and PR Manager. Work with brand teams to ensure all elements of press release are in place, including high res photography. Follow up with key media after news release to pitch placement and/or secure interview.Create custom media lists as warranted to reach new media for new product category launches. Represent the company in a positive, professional manner both on and off site. Act as company spokesperson for media interviews as it relates to designated brands. Create and send monthly press article reports to internal brand and sales teams, as well as suppliers as warranted. Monitor Luxury and Import brand websites and make content suggestions to improve outward facing communication to the trade and consumers to maximize impact. Work with teams to monitor social media channels and ensure messaging is consistent, on brand and consumers are engaged. Manage media library for Luxury and Import brands and ensure daily maintenance. Work with media monitoring agencies to secure accurate media tracking and create reports of positive press. Work with internal PR team on identifying and categorizing monthly reports for KPI accuracy. Ensure focus on key priority brands strives towards reaching short term goal for both ad equivalency and circulation. Focused Increase of "A" contacts each year and continue to grow "B" and "C" contacts. Maintain current contact relationships through frequent communication. Maintain and update the CMS as needed. Create new media lists to target specific goals and import into CMS . Work with PR counterparts at brand agencies on opportunities that may be synergistic with our brands. Share media contacts and communication with media with internal PR counterparts. Qualifications/Requirements: MUST Ability to communicate with all levels of an org Ability and willingness to work non-traditional hours (nights/weekends) Ability to manage multiple projects at one time Excellent oral & written communication skills Must be a self-starter and able to work alone. Strong detail orientation Undergraduate degree in Business, Marketing or Communications Willingness to travel 8 years of relevant experience (minimum) PREFERRED 2 years Ad Agency Experience 2 years' Experience dealing with VIP guests 2 years Experience in Alcohol Beverage Industry 1 year International market experience
