WHEN YOU'LL DO IT
  • Monday to Friday - 9 to 5:30 and Saturday 9 to 1 (flexible on Saturday's)
  • Domestic travel in Midwest 10-20%

WHAT YOU'LL DO
The Product Associate will partner cross-functionally with various departments to develop promotional and marketing tools to maximize sales. This role is responsible for the planning & forecasting of the product, and analyzes the product life cycle.
  • It is about 50% product planning and 50% sourcing duties. Look at historical sales data, see how well the item is doing, will take the market data and make a forecast (proof of forecast).
  • Then, will use that forecast generated and produce a production plan for our partner factories (overseas factories)
  • Has to understand planning enough to know if the factory will be able to produce it in the allotted time (produce it based on the color, quantity, and time to get to the U.S.)
  • Has to be able to figure out if it is worth it or not to take the risk in obtaining that product.
  • Evaluate investment needed to support a launch of a new item and determine whether the ROIC is appropriate.
  • Partner with Merchant/Buyer in implementation of new products into current operations.
  • Facilitate production ramp up.
  • Partner with Merchant/Buyer in ensuring proper quality assurance process.
  • Develop and maintain product cost models.
  • Perform capacity analysis to determine impact of new items on current production processes.
  • Partner with international suppliers on product development, purchase order placement, and inventory flow.
  • Analyze and manage proper inventory flow, including demand planning & forecasting, expedites, defers, diverts, purchase order placement, pricing analysis and assessment, and receipt of goods.
  • Visits customers and promotes materials.
  • Analyze prices, specifications, and delivery dates and awards contract to bidders or places orders with suppliers.
  • Optimizes inventory levels by warehouses, by products, in partnerships cross-functionally across the company.
  • Analyze and provide assessments & recommendations on product life cycle-new product introduction, existing product promotion, rationalization, discontinuation and close-out.
  • Partner cross-functionally across National Marketing, Products, and Sales to develop promotional and marketing tools to maximize sales.
  • Performs additional duties as required and or requested.


SKILLS YOU'LL NEED
  • Bachelor's degree and/or college coursework required.
  • 2-4 years of supply chain or production planning experience
  • Preferably, 1 year of forecasting knowledge
  • With experience in dealing with overseas manufacturing units
  • Has utilized any inventory planning models in the past
  • Intermediate Excel skills (basic formulas, VLoopsUps).
  • Knows how to use Power Query that would be a plus.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative ability.
  • Excellent academic achievements.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Excellent project management skills.
  • Excellent critical thinking skills.
  • Strong leadership skills.
