Production Worker
Qualifications:
MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED: High school diploma, GED or 2-3 years manufacturing experience. Ability to work in a team based environment with little to no supervision. Ability to clearly communicate both verbally and in writing Good reasoning/mechanical aptitude. Basic math and computer skills PREFERRED OR DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS Manufacturing experience in a team based environment Familiarity with Safety Programs in a manufacturing facility Good understanding of quality and board specifications. WORKING CONDITIONS: Normal work hours with occasional optional as well as mandatory overtime necessary to meet deadlines or objectives Normal office and manufacturing plant environment which may include exposure to industrial solvents, liquids and other materials. The working environment will extend to both hot and cold conditions PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Must be capable of wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) necessary to comply with government and company safety standards Job includes tasks that require bending, lifting materials weighing up to 50 lbs., twisting, gripping and stair climbing
Responsibilities:
Run production equipment and/or product cleaning process, move materials. Takes responsibility for product quality and performs appropriate tests in order to make meaningful decisions. Works with the team to produce the highest quality product to ensure Preferred Status on an efficient basis. Inspects and maintains equipment. Technicians will own breakdowns of equipment in their work area. Assists other Technicians throughout the plant with repairs as requested. Immediately addresses equipment deficiencies to maintain like-new equipment standards. Operates mobile equipment in the normal course of daily activities to move both wallboard and raw materials. Safely lifts wallboard, raw materials, and equipment as needed to perform duties. Possesses considerable knowledge of plant computer hardware and software, inputs and retrieves information and trains others in these areas. Controls inventory of finished, scrap and held goods. Maintains established minimum raw material and product inventories and reorders/replenishes them as required. Establishes and maintains the highest degree of housekeeping and 5S (Sorting, Straightening, Shining, Standardizing, Sustaining) in all areas. Routinely meets with assigned team to freely discuss recommendations/suggestions for improvement and openly receives feedback targeted to improve the performance of the business. Actively participates in coordinator functions. Actively contributes to the WCM (World Class Manufacturing) process. Learns and performs various jobs throughout the plant. Teaches job skills to others, on the job and in a classroom setting. Is positive when teaching others. Meets daily with the Technician Team and other designated teams or individuals to produce the best product possible. Meets with assigned plant groups; shares in the work of the group and reports progress/updates back to assigned team. Supports and helps others throughout the plant at all times. Other duties as required.
Comments/Special Instructions
Looking for either 2nd or 3rd shift - so could be 2:30 pm-11:00 pm or 10:30 pm -7:00 am. Would prefer someone open to overtime on but no guaranteed OT (occasional weekends). 2nd shift differential from $.75 3rd shift differential from $1.00
