Company Name:  Center for NYC Neighborhoods

The Center seeks to hire a Program Assistant to join our Sustainability and Resiliency team and support implementation of our flood resiliency and energy efficiency programs.
The Program Assistant will help with administering grant programs for homeowners including rehabilitation assistance through our Residential Backwater Valve Installation Program.
The Program Assistant is a full time, non-exempt position reporting to the Program Manager.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Providing operational support for the successful administration of the Center’s resiliency and sustainability programs;
• Tracking casework and coordinating the delivery of program services to homeowners, including Home Resiliency Audits and rehabilitation grants through our RBVI Program;
• Directly communicating with plumbers, engineers, inspectors, and homeowners to move participants through the RBVI Program;
• Completing initial reviews of deliverables submitted by engineers, inspectors, and plumbers, including scopes of work, cost estimate, field reports, invoices, and other documents relevant to the RBVI Program;
• Tracking and uploading documentation received from homeowners, plumbers, engineers, and inspectors to the system of record;
• Receiving, logging, and analyzing program satisfaction survey responses and helping to generate and implement process improvements;
• Assisting with the development of bid packages and construction contracts for backwater valve installations;
• Liaising with government partners at the City and State level;
• Carrying out quality control and document management;
• Analyzing program metrics, preparing reports;
• Attending meetings, recording minutes, and distributing minutes to attendees;
• Drafting correspondence to partners and stakeholders;
• Conducting occasional field visits to participating homes;
• Other tasks and duties reasonably related to job responsibilities.

Skills Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; relevant experience in lieu of education may be considered;
• Skilled with research and analysis;
• Energized by mission-driven work that serves the public interest;
• Excellent oral and written communications skills;
• Proven ability to carry out demanding workload with consistency, efficiency, timeliness, attention to detail, and 100% follow-through;
• Collaborative work style and ability to thrive in team settings;
• Excellent problem-solving skills and good judgment;
• Familiarity with New York City and State government and non-profit sector resources a plus;
• Fluency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); knowledge of Salesforce or other CRM is desirable;
• Passionate and enthusiastic about promoting affordable homeownership, storm resiliency, sustainable energy, and an equitable New York.
