We are seeking a motivated professional to join our Tax team as an Tax Supervisor. This position takes direction from Tax Management. Responsibilities include reviewing less complex and preparing more complex federal and state tax returns for C Corporations, S Corporations, Partnerships, Trusts, Individuals and tax-Exempt Organizations.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Directs and supervises the work of Associates and Senior Associates
- Reviews basic and moderately complex tax returns
- Prepares complex tax returns
- Recognizes unusual M-1 items
- Prepares/reviews multi-state tax returns
- Prepares/reviews UNICAP and deferred tax calculations
- Prepares/reviews accrual to cash conversions
- Understands consolidated tax return mechanics
- Initiates quarterly and year-end tax planning discussions
- Ability to identify and communicate open items and obtain items from the client
- Ability to navigate and utilize tax research tools
- Understands the theory behind a position taken on a return
Desired Skills and Experience
- Professional Certification - Certified Public Accountant (CPA) required
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, business or related field required
- MBA or other relevant advanced degree (Master's in Accountancy/Tax) preferred
- Five (5) or more years of tax experience, including one (1) year of supervisory experience
- Strong written and verbal communications skills
- Experience with ProSystem fx Tax preferred
- Ability to work in fixed asset software programs
- Experience with online tax research tools
