Client. is a vertically integrated OEM manufacturer of permanent magnet brushless DC motors and harsh environment drivers for the aerospace, defense, and medical industries. The company operates 7 facilities in in Brooksville, Florida, area.   Client is currently seeking a hands-on manufacturing engineer technician to work with the product development team. You will spend most of your day on the factory floor. This role requires technical and mechanical skills. Primary responsibility will be to transition new products to production. This will include participation in proto-type builds, training operators and ensuring work-instruction are clear and concise. Provide input on design for manufacturing and quality requirements. Repair and maintain assembly equipment. Monitor, and check product quality and document results. Position requires a high degree of manual dexterity and problem-solving ability. The ability to operate factory machines, hand or power tools and use software to run computer-operated machinery. You will be working with a wide range of manufacturing technology like; automated manufacturing cells, complex tooling and fixturing, and industrial equipment. Essential Job Functions: Lead the transition of product development initiatives into production. Participate in product development efforts to provide guidance on DFM practices. Support existing product lines through continuous improvement efforts. Research, specify, and implement Cap-Ex equipment. Lead production pilot builds and create verification plans for new products. Write and revise manufacturing process documentation like, work instructions, routers, SOP's, training & maintenance manuals, manufacturing, and test procedures. Learn the manufacturing process in detail, troubleshooting and escalate to senior staff if/when they are not able to correct the problem. Monitor and check the product quality identifying when the process is deviating from the norm and taking action to correct it. Apply lean manufacturing principles to eliminate waste in the production process. Implement processes to reduce output variation. Supplemental Job Functions: Support sales and marketing teams by providing time & feasibility studies on new customer RFP's. Support design engineers by providing research for processes and manufacturing. Engage with vendors and suppliers when required. Requirements/Qualifications: A range of experience and education levels will be considered for this position, the ideal candidate will possess. Minimum of 3-5 years' experience in mechanical manufacturing industries. Experience working in ISO 9001, or AS9100 companies Must be hands on, with mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills Must be able to interpret GD&T drawings Other Skills/Abilities: Proficient with SolidWorks, but other CAD platforms may be acceptable Proficient with Microsoft office programs Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma Attention to detail Solid written and verbal communication skills WORKING CONDITIONS: Typical heated and air-conditioned production floor environment. Exposures encountered: May be exposed to hazardous equipment or materials. Physical requirements: Walking, standing, sitting, and typing for prolonged periods. Moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another frequently. May be required to lift to 50 pounds. Constant communication with others to exchange information. Repeating motions that may include bending, kneeling, use of the wrists, hands and/or fingers. Operating machinery and/or power tools on occasion. Normal working hours are from 7:30 AM to 4 PM, other hours including weekends may be required from time to time as necessary to meet deliverable timelines. No travel requirements.
