QA Test Technician

Core Duties and Responsibilities: The primary responsibilities of this position are to learn the PCBA circuits of the CTS product lines manufactured by Client Scientific in Tewksbury, MA.
This will require testing down to the component level for newly assembled PCBA s, diagnose, repair and test of customer returned RMA s, repair and test of customer service PCBA s, and any other PCBA test-related requirements like failure analysis, pre-test of components before assembly, final QA testing, etc.
This person will be required to perform normal test functions including schematic interpretation, use of oscilloscopes and meters, and have a solid understanding and working experience, occasionally on high voltage equipment.
This candidate must be able to learn and understand how these circuits work so they will be able to perform any kind of test required.
The secondary responsibility for this position will be to learn to system test a product line.
This would include turn on, calibration, button-up, and shipment preparation.

  • This individual should be very comfortable engaging at all levels of the organization and shall be independent and a self initiator.
  • Should possess strong interpersonal skills, solid communication skills; both written and oral.
  • Capable of working in a team environment.
  • Need to be very comfortable with the use of Windows-based software such as Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Be flexible and willing to expand into other areas as business requirements dictate.

    Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
    The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

    Education Requirements: Associate degree in electrical engineering preferred and 5 years related experience or electrical technician with a minimum of 5 years experience in industrial/field service.

    Experience Requirements: 3-5 years experience in a test environment preferably experience with very high voltages.

  • Read and understand engineering documentation including drawings, circuit diagrams, and sequence of operations
  • Soldering electronic components on printed circuit boards
  • Computer skills: - MS Word, MS Excel
  • Solid working experience with oscilloscopes, meters, and other instruments to capture data.
  • Exposure and understanding of 17025 level test requirements is a plus.
