Quality Department Manager
Position Summary
Provide leadership of the R&O Irvine FAA repair station in accordance with all applicable company and U.S. Government regulations, policies, and procedures. As FAA Accountable Manager, responsible for ensuring that policies, plans, standards, and requirements are met at the facility for all key metrics with a deep understanding and experience of all FARs related to PART 145 as related to quality.
Responsibilities
• Overseeing the effectiveness and the integrity of the Repair Station Manual, Repair Station Quality Manual, Repair Station Training Manual and the AS9100 quality system and reporting the suitability and effectiveness of the system to the CBU management team.
• Support and deployment of appropriate Quality Management Systems.
• Exercise the role of FAA Accountable Manager to ensure that the Repair Station maintains a culture of quality.
• Assure customer, FAA, EASA, CAAC, and DOT compliance.
• Uphold policies and procedures needed for the quality management system and ensure that they are implemented, revised, and maintained.
• Establishes and maintains premier customer service.
• Lead customer and regulatory audits as required.
• Ensure the promotion and awareness of customer requirements and lead the resolution of matters pertaining to quality, including corrective action plans to audits both internally and externally.
• Leading the development of methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for projects, programs, and people.
• Ensures the Irvine repair station operation has adequate inventory, production control scheduling, shipping/receiving logistics.
• Focal point for the achievement of the Irvine budgetary requirements.
• Manage performance, evaluation, and skill advancement of direct reports. Provide performance feedback formally/informally; rewards/recognizes employee contributions.
• Quality liaison between the Repair Station, the CFCD Quality Management.
Qualifications
• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related technical discipline.
• Demonstrated ability to perform the essential functions of the job - four plus years applicable experience in a world-class manufacturing environment or aerospace repair station is preferred.
• Effective written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills for effective interface with all internal and external contacts.
• Effective facilitation and coaching skills.
• Knowledge of and experience in Total Quality concepts and ISO procedures.
• Knowledge and experience with statistical improvement methods, and corrective action development experience.
• Managerial experience, with demonstrated ability to provide leadership and motivation to employees.
• FAA repairman or A&P license preferred but not required.
• Limited travel will be required.
