JOB SUMMARY
Reporting to the Process Quality Lead, the Sanitation Specialist is responsible to execute validation trials and testing in
collaboration with the production, maintenance and quality teams. This person upholds and implements factory
specifications, standards and Quality Management System (QMS) for food safety, quality assurance and controls in
alignment with applicable regulatory requirements. This role executes site Quality sanitation improvement activities to
ensure consumer safety & overall product quality and address consumer / customer issues. Responsibilities include
cleaning & allergen validation sampling, testing, and results reporting, as well as, sanitation training documentation
updates and demonstrations with production, quality and maintenance teammates.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
 Conduct allergen, microbiological and environmental sampling & testing
 Collect CIP, COP and OCP observations and records
 Perform operator interviews and on-the-job training
 Communicate requirements for allergen, cleaning/disinfection and environmental validations to
affected departments
 Audit / Inspection support (regulatory, internal, kosher, Pest Control, etc…).
Due to the unpredictable nature of sanitation cycles within the production schedule, the candidate should be
able to adapt his/her schedule to the need of the responsibilities described above.

QUALIFICATIONS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The
requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable
accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
 Sanitation & operations or laboratory experience preferred.
 MS Office suite proficiency (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
 Proficient in applying technical standards, concepts, and techniques.
 Adaptable to various laboratory techniques and concepts, particularly regarding allergens and microbiology. Proficiency in hygienic design, installation and operation preferred
 Can work independently under general direction

WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those
an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The
noise level in the work environment is usually very loud.
Manufacturing environment, individual will be exposed to work on the manufacturing floor and be exposed to
mechanical operations and cleaning solutions.
The employee will work around ammonia.
Some repetitive motion is required.
