SQL expert – Relational databases, how to structure data, queries, window functions, aggregations, groupings, etc.
 

• On site 5x a week in Houston, Texas 
• Experience in data warehousing and Power BI projects.
  Someone who can come in and see the strategy that's already in place and contribute to it.
   
• 1 round technical interview with customer, just technical questions and no hands on SQL coding during interview.
  Should get feedback/hiring answer directly after.
   
• They follow typical scrum process.
  1st month is 50% of the time collaborating with business analysts and then it is design and development time/assisting Power BI developer in data warehouse.
   
• Business strategy is already in play, but need someone with excellent communication skills who speaks clearly, isn't afraid to speak up, very hands on, have healthy debate, and able to hit the ground running.
   
• Able to communicate to a technical audience and non-technical audience.
  

We are currently seeking an experienced Data Architect to join the Big Data and Advanced Analytics department.
The Data Architect will work closely with business domain experts to create an Enterprise Data Lakehouse to support data analytic use cases for the Natural Gas Gathering, Processing, and Transportation business units.

Responsibilities include: 

• Analyze business scenarios and translate into data flows and data models 
• Advise on data interactions and data interdependencies between business functions and applications and recommend solutions to common business problems 
• Develop and maintain conceptual and logical data models 
• Design and implement a Data Lakehouse solution which accurately reflects business operations 
• Assist with data platform performance tuning and physical data model support 
• Provide guidance in data visualizations and reporting efforts to ensure solutions are aligned to business objectives 

Qualifications 

• The successful candidate will meet the following qualifications: 
• 10+ years of experience as a Data professional 
• 5+ years of experience as a Data Architect with experience in designing and maintaining conceptual, logical, and physical data models 
• Experience in data management practices including data catalog, data lineage, and master data management 
• Experience in business analysis and defining business performance metrics 
• Experience in software development practices such as Design Principles and Patterns, Testing, CI/CD, and version control 
• Expert knowledge of ANSI SQL, PLSQL, and TSQL 
• Experience in implementing a Data Lakehouse using Apache Iceberg or Delta Lake 
• Knowledgeable of common data visualization tools such as Power BI and Tibco Spotfire 
• Experience in presenting and explaining complex concepts to stakeholders 

Experience in the Oil & Gas industry is preferred
