Fully remote. Salesforce Marketing Cloud Email Developer

Looking for an experienced email developer with extensive Salesforce Marketing Cloud experience for a temporary position (until the end of the year and with the possibility of renewal afterward). This position entails remotely supporting the email marketing team for Retirement line of business.

The ideal candidate will have three or more years of hands-on experience with Salesforce Marketing Cloud Email Studio (formerly ExactTarget), Journey Builder, AMPscript coding, and hand-coding HTML and CSS without relying on a WYSIWYG editor.

The ideal candidate will also have exacting attention to detail, is a self-starter who can work independently and as part of a team, can follow instructions without skimming or skipping steps, can work under tight deadlines, and isnt afraid to ask for help when needed. The candidate should not just be an order taker, but is proactive, can offer new ideas, and is solutions oriented.

Key Responsibilities (including, but not limited to):

  • Quickly and accurately build, edit, and test templates and emails in Salesforce Marketing Cloud (Email Studio / ExactTarget).
  • Frequently code AMPscript.
  • Metrics tracking and reporting on individual emails and campaign performance via Datorama (Power BI experience a plus).
  • Hand code HTML and CSS.
  • Create Journey Builder forms and Web Studio Cloud Pages.
  • Work closely with the email team, external departments, and third-party vendors with program, project, and task management.
  • Creation and modification of global and local content blocks.
  • Data extensions: define requirements, formatting, uploads, and troubleshooting.
  • Create conditional logic.

Job Requirements

  • 3+ years email marketing experience as a primary focus.
  • 3+ building emails, templates, and dynamic content blocks in Salesforce Marketing Cloud using Content Builder.
  • 3+ years creating customer journeys using Salesforce Marketing Cloud Journey Builder.
  • 3+ years coding AMPscript. This is an absolute must.
  • Must have a core understanding of how metrics are derived and how they relate to and impact performance.
  • 3+ years of experience HTML and CSS coding. Must be able to code without using a WYSIWYG interface. Preferably in a text editor (should not be dependent on a specific IDE like Dreamweaver). This is an absolute must.
  • Knowledge of email A/B testing, personalization, and customization.
  • Knowledge of email best practices, CAN-SPAM laws, deliverability improvement/maintenance.
  • Knowledge of Section 508 and Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) guidelines.
  • Ability to use Adobe Creative Suite Photoshop to modify images.
  • Thorough understanding of data extensions, subscriber imports, and group creation based on data filters.
  • Experience with creating and modifying files with Adobe Acrobat Pro.
  • Beginner knowledge of SQL

Preferred, but not required:

  • Financial Services / Insurance industry experience.
  • Experience with Salesforce CRM report creation.
  • Experience with SmartSheet to manage email projects and calendars.
  • Knowledge of the Aprimo Project Management software.
  • Experience with Email on Acid email testing software.
  • Microsoft Excel data manipulation (vLookups).
  • Mixpanel experience.
  • Power BI experience.
