Location : Carmel, IN
Duration : 13 weeks contract
Shift : Days
  • POSITION SUMMARY:

    Assessment Performs an appropriate nursing history and physical upon admission, intra-procedure, post procedure and upon discharge from department. Meets age specific criteria: Adults, Geriatrics.
    Deomonstrates competency in admitting patient to cath lab by using observational and interviewing skills to perform a priority assessment. Checks patient identification by wristband and verbal response on arrival to cath lab and introduces patient to his/her surroundings. Assesses the patient's administration status and documents on the cath lab nursing record. Ensure that all data is complete including: lab work, chest x-ray, EKG, history and physical, allergies. Assures proper consent is signed for procedure to be preformed. Reviews physicians orders and ensures physician's orders are processed before, during and after procedure.
  • ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

    1. Assists in patient transportation to and from Cath lab; prepares the patient for heart catheterization by explaining procedures; offers support as needed.
    2. Ensures that the patient's chart is ready; properly signed consents, abnormal lab work, allergies; reports necessary information to physician and cath lab team.
    3. Based on changing patient needs, evaluates, revises and updates patient care during the catheterization period. Demonstrates ability to set priorities and delegates duties as indicated.
    4. Identifies areas of own strengths and weaknesses and seeks assistance from appropriate individuals.
    5. Assesses the learning needs of less experienced team members and contributes to their leaning experiences.
    6. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department.
    7. Minimum 2 years of experience required
Qualifications :
  • Requires an associate's degree and is certified as a registered nurse.
  • Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field.
  • License to work in State
