Real Estate Services Manager Apply
This exciting new role provides plans, manages, and oversees, the daily operations, of the Real Estate Services Unit to support land acquisition and property management programs for client's, flood protection, water supply and land stewardship projects.
In this role, you will conduct operations in conformance with the Uniform Relocation Act and other legal requirements required for public real estate transactions and activities. Coordination skills are critical as you'll be responsible for coordinating with various Client's business areas and outside agencies to develop, plan, and schedule short- and long-term land acquisition and property management programs. In addition, you will oversee, review, and participate in preparing staff estimates of value for real property interests, real estate legal documents, such as deeds, leases, purchase and sale agreements, and escrow terms and conditions.
Responsibilities:
- Manages the daily functions, operations, and activities of the real estate services unit, including land acquisition and property management programs.
- Conduct work in conformance of the Uniform Relocation Act and other legal requirements pertaining to public real estate transactions and activities.
- Evaluate the need for and develop, plan, and schedule for short- and long-term land acquisition and property management programs.
- Make decisions pertaining to real estate appraisal and valuation for public purposes; Real Estate Services Manager April 2023 Page 2 of 3 review and approve or deny real estate appraisals prepared by other parties.
- Negotiate and direct negotiations for a wide variety of real estate and relocation assistance contracts and agreements.
- Oversee, review, and participate in preparing staff estimates of value for real property interests, real estate legal documents, such as deeds, leases, purchase and sale agreements, and escrow terms and conditions.
- Manage non-residential property leases, including buildings and vacant land.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge of:
- Principles, practices, concepts, and standards of real estate services as applied to the assigned unit including right of way, condemnation, real property acquisition and management, and other real property matters.
- Land ownership transaction procedures and instruments.
- Equivalent to graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major coursework in business or public administration, or a related field.
- Five (5) years of public sector property acquisition and management experience, including two (2) years of direct supervisory experience.
- Possession of or ability to obtain the Senior Right of Way Agent certification from the International Right of Way Association within two years of appointment. Fifteen (15) years of directly related experience may be substituted for the certification requirement.
